Customers often start with Splunk for immediate use cases such as security. However, the same data can be useful for additional use cases such as observability. I recently chatted with Suman Gajavelly from bitsIO Inc. about how Data Sensi can help customers realize additional value from data already in Splunk.

hey everyone we’re out here at Microsoft ignite and I’ve been chatting with sumon about bits iio three-time partner of the year with spun can you give me a little bit more information about what you do at bits iio we do uh everything spun so implementations um upgrades Cloud migrations anything spunk we we do it Enterprise security itsi observability s now we’ve been chatting about this project that you have coming up called Sensei sounds really exciting can you give us a little bit more information what that is it’s a cool name and it it also does cool things so lot of customers are um the common theme I hear from the customers is what what am I doing with my data there are hundreds of data sources in Splunk and am I getting the value does it uh you know Mak sense to have all the data uh business sense too right so what we came up with the um data Sensei for Splunk which actually scores each data source that you have one through 10 and then anything below we uh go to customer sit with them and tell them you could be doing these many use cases on these unused data sources if that’s still not relevant to them we could actually migrate that data to a cheaper storage that way we have all the data in the cheaper storage and it’s cost effective and then Federated analytics on the other hand it can um bring insights from Splunk data as well as nons Splunk data non-s Splunk data being on the storage uh cheaper storage like S3 and it gives you more um flexibility to customers that’s amazing so you’re looking at the customers environment how they can U utilize their data more efficiently get more value and more use cases what what what they already have in Splunk or optimize that for long-term storage or additional use cases yes yeah more autoi from slunk right and um and then cost optimization as well and even the health check you they could see how they’re using best practices or Not by doing this uh data Sensei if I’m a customer and I want to engage bits iio on an engagement like this with data and Sensei how do I go get some more information or go get started um we will provide the link uh we will have a landing page with all the information but we do uh for a limited time we are doing free assessment on this so customers can get the scoring done uh as a pro Ono and then once that is done we can sit with the customer tell them what use cases that they could be uh using for that data otherwise we we will help them uh migrate the data over to cheaper story that’s fantastic thank you so much for your time today thank you Jason
