Cisco Powered Services is a framework for partners to build managed services. It includes proven blueprints and best practices that partners can use to put a managed service into the market. While at Cisco Partner Summit, I had an opportunity to chat with Steve Hasselbach about the in’s and out’s of the framework including requirements, the types of Cisco Powered Services, and criteria for partners. Hey everybody, we’re out here at Cisco Partner Summit and I ran into Steve here and you’ve been telling me a lot about Cisco Powered Services. What is that? What does it do? What does it mean for partners? >> Cisco powered services are amazing for our managed service providers. Um the what the Cisco powered framework is is it’s a framework for our partners uh to build amazing um managed services based off of. It’s a set of blueprints and best practices that they can then go follow to build and put and put a managed service offer out into the market. So we have uh see 23 Cisco powered services now today and that partners can go and download and build their service based off of and um so what the the partner will do is go download those requirements and um they will then uh prepare the uh the packet of information for that and then they’ll go and sit for an audit with our thirdparty auditor to demonstrate what their service is and and how it uh meets the requirements of a Cisco powered service. So it’s fantastic for partners to go out and and build these services to these best practices because that’s exactly what they are. They are best practices. Uh my team has put a lot of time and effort into building these out. Uh we’ve done lots of interviews with lots of partners on what’s successful. So for new partners entering into managed services practices, go and and look at those for things such as SDWAN uh to look at observability. Uh we’ve got some coming out for Splunk. We’ve got hybrid cloud. Uh it’s across the whole entire portfolio. We just released version 14 uh on Monday uh and that had two brand new ones in one for meeting rooms and one for AI infrastructure. So we’re very excited about those and and looking for those first partners to go and achieve those. >> So we talked about there’s certain criteria to have a Cisco powered service and a lot of steps involved. You mentioned the auditing as one of them. If I wanted to have my own Cisco powered service, where would I go get all of this information? >> Right. So you go to the cisco.com site and just search for Cisco powered services. It’ll take you to the page there. It’ll list out all the different Cisco powered services. They’re all broken out into that based off of that one Cisco story. So, go and find an SDWAN or an SSE and uh download the requirements document itself. Go through it. Uh it’s it’s broken up into some training that you need to do and then a listing of requirements around sales operations around uh operations of the the platform itself. So re run through those and then compare those against the um the service that you’ve built today and then you can log into the PMA tool and apply for that Cisco powered service. We’ll reach out to you to set up the audit with our our third party auditor. You’ll then sit for that audit. It lasts about a half a day where you’ll present your solution based off of those requirements. Um and then you know uh upon successful completion you know you’re awarded with that u with that designation of a Cisco powered service. So Cisco powered services is it’s sort of the entryway to to go on that journey through the our uh the managed service practice maturity. Um so today we’ve got three different levels in managed service practice maturity. There’s the basic intermediate and uh and expert. So to get to that intermediate level you need to have one Cisco powered service. To get to the expert level you need to have three Cisco powered services. So this is sort of on that journey to get you up to that expert level within managed service practice maturity as part of Cisco 360. That’s a lot of great information, man.
