Cisco AI Defense discovers enterprise AI usage, detects risks, and protects against runtime threats with guardrails. While at RSAC, I had a chance to chat with Julia Guenther about Cisco AI Defense and how it does model red teaming, discovers AI assets, and provides protection. There are hundreds of tests for validation that feed seamlessly into Splunk for expanded correlation providing speed and efficiency for your organization.

Hey everybody, we’re out here at the RSA conference and I’m Marina De Giulia here and we’ve been talking about AI defense. Now, you gave me a lot of cool information about what it can do. So, can you tell us some more about it? Sure. So, Cisco AI defense provides a way for you to secure your entire software development life cycle. It allows you to discover all of your AI assets, so your LLMs, your rag applications, your agents, your MCP servers, your files, anything that has to do with AI. It allows you to detect any vulnerabilities that are included in those assets, and then it allows you to protect them using real-time guardrails. Now, it said something about discovery. So, is it going to go do an automated discovery about all the LLMs and MCP servers that are out there running? Yeah, we have the capability to do that as long as they’re managed by one of the cloud providers. Yeah. And when it does do a detection and it’s doing that red teaming, is there like an integration in Splunk? >> Yeah, so we integrate with Splunk. We also have When it comes to red teaming, I think that’s the most exciting part of our product. We run against about 2,000 different prompts, the 200 different categories of threats, and to against these models, these MCP servers, these agents. We also do file and MCP server scanning and all of that is within the validations that you see within AI defense, and you can see the events that come from the validations in Splunk. And then when we start talking about validation, what are we talking about? We’re talking about days, hours, minutes? How is that going? It takes a couple minutes, but it’s something that would take weeks if you were manually red teaming it. That’s really incredible. So, if I want to go learn some more and educate myself on AI defense, where would I go? So, you could go to our website. We have a lot of really great resources on AI defense on cisco.com. We also have a a lot of blogs. We seem to be releasing blogs about every week. There were a bunch of them launched today as a result at him having to do with the launches that are occurring at RSA. And so, yeah, there’s a lot of resources out there. That’s really incredible. Thank you so much for your time. I appreciate it. Yeah.
