While at Microsoft Ignite, I had a chance to learn more about Cisco SD-WAN from Steven Penland. Steven shared how SD-WAN can connect fabrics into Microsft Azure and extend customer networks into the cloud. Additionally, access to SaaS applications, like Microsoft 365, can be optimized by examining network traffic and automatically choosing the most optimum path.

hey everybody we’re out here at microsof KN I’m talking to Steve here about secure hybrid Cloud what what does that mean and how are we uh how are we accomplishing that yeah thank you so what we’re focusing on today is how we can connect Cisco SD Fabrics into Microsoft Azure by deploying virtual appliances and extending customers networks into the cloud we can do this through automated workflows within the sdw managers and we can do it securely using things like IPC tunnels and security functionality in addition just being able to connect to the Azure Cloud we can optimize some of the SAS applications customers are consuming like Microsoft 365 and we do this by actually looking at the network traffic and determining what is the performance of that traffic so that way we can choose the best path to send the traffic this makes sure our customers have the most optimal experience and when there are issues we can actually automatically fail over and correct those on uh demand that’s really what we’re focused on today how to make how to help customers achieve the most from their Cisco and and Microsoft Investments so if I want to go get some more information on how to accomplish this optimization where should I go well you should either reach out to your Cisco account team and we’ve got a whole sdw specialist organization that’s willing to help and happy to help with any questions you may have or out on The Cisco website I think it’s CSCO sdw we’ll have all the collateral that that’ll help get up to speed awesome thanks even thank you [Music]
