Hey everyone, we’re out here at Microsoft Ignite and I’ve been talking to Craig about digital transformation. Can you tell me how Splunk helps in a journey for customers in their digital transformation? Absolutely. So we’re in this new rapidly evolving environment where AI is accelerating things at a massive pace. Now Splunk is very well positioned to be able to help drive that more informed decision of how you want to transform for the future — whether you’re going to be migrating to the cloud or if you want to bring things back in-house. Primarily, with the ability to bring all your data together, it’s super important that you get a good understanding of how your critical business processes work and how they stitch together, so you know exactly what things need to shift where. Do you need to move it closer to where your consumers are by going to a cloud provider? Or, in some cases, we’re starting to see a shift where customers are actually bringing things in-house because they want to protect their data, but also bring it close to where most of their workloads live.

So you’ve seen a lot of this in the retail space — retail stores, digital stores. Can you give me some more perspective there? Absolutely. So in the retail space, consumers these days want to be met where they want to be met — meaning, do they want to get something on their mobile device, do they want to go into an actual retail store and try something on. And in some cases they want that hybrid experience, where they can go into a retail store, try something on, and then find out there’s another product they like or a color they want, and they can actually do both — take home product but also go online and buy that product and have it shipped to their doorstep.

This is really interesting, your perspective here — where can I go as a customer to get more? Absolutely. So you can actually go to splunk.com/perspectives and you should be able to find more information about digital transformation and so much more. Thanks Craig, appreciate it. No problem, man.
